Nous avons quitt\u00e9 l&rsquo;h\u00f4tel \u00e0 5h30 pour nous rendre \u00e0 Rio Lagartos, sur la c\u00f4te au nord de Valladolid, \u00e0 environ 130 km.<\/p>\n<p>Rio Lagartos est un petit port au bord d&rsquo;une immense lagune hypersaline, s\u00e9par\u00e9e de la mer par une mangrove de plus de 65 k de long. Elle constitue une zone prot\u00e9g\u00e9e favorable \u00e0 l\u2019alimentation et \u00e0 la reproductions de plus de 300 esp\u00e8ces d&rsquo;oiseaux, de crocodiles, de reptiles et abrite une colonie de plus de 40 000 flamands roses.<\/p>\n<p>Nous avons retrouv\u00e9 notre capitaine, et nous sommes partis pour une balade de 3 heures sur la lagune \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte des C&rsquo;est un site tr\u00e8s restaur\u00e9, qui date environ du 10\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, et n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 fouill\u00e9 que depuis les ann\u00e9es 1990. La couleur blanche choque un peu, mais c&rsquo;est la couleur d&rsquo;origine. cenote dans lequel nous sommes all\u00e9s chercher un peu de fraicheur !<\/p>\n<p>Le <i>cenote<\/i> est un des \u00e9l\u00e9ments caract\u00e9ristiques de la p\u00e9ninsule du Yucat\u00e1n (Mexique). Cette formation g\u00e9ologique en forme de puits naturel ou de grotte abonde dans la r\u00e9gion du Yucatan, qui en compterait plus de 10 000 ! Sa forme, sa profondeur, sa beaut\u00e9 aussi, varient \u00e9norm\u00e9ment d\u2019un <i>cenote<\/i> \u00e0 un autre. Ancien lieu rituel maya, il est \u00e0 ce jour plus fr\u00e9quemment un lieu de d\u00e9tente familial ou touristique. Certains cenotes (voir tous ?) communiquent entre eux par des grottes souterraines. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s par les Mayas et leurs successeurs comme r\u00e9servoir d&rsquo;eau, ce qui explique que les villes du Yucat\u00e1n sont souvent construites \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 d&rsquo;un ou plusieurs, comme Valladolid par exemple.<\/p>\n<p>Le premier que nous avons vu aujourd&rsquo;hui s&rsquo;appelle X&rsquo;Canche.
